In 2022 I downloaded the TikTok app to evaluate if it was age-appropriate for my oldest daughter. It wasn’t. Yet I was captivated myself, especially by the live streams. Driven by curiosity and a desire to capture the complex yet beautiful nuances within the digital world, I began to take photographs of the ongoing live streams on my screen. The choice to work with analog techniques serves as a counterweight to the fast-moving pace of the social media climate. By printing the pictures in the darkroom, I am giving my full attention to each image and individual featured in the photographs. This slow and tedious process is well rewarded by the tactility of the silver gelatin prints.
